Conserving Our Biodiversity, Island Life Guafo

Dr. Roberto Schlatter and Dr. Hector Pavés LECMAA members, will be the director and alternate director respectively, of the "Spreading to Conserve Our Biodiversity, Island Life Guafo Milestone" funded by the Directorate of Extension Universidad Austral de Chile and will begin in August 2009.

The objective of this project is to conduct talks, workshops and prepare educational materials on the island, considering anthropological and biological aspects of it for exhibition development system to initiate change in values, concepts and attitudes of the community against our environment.

To inform the community of Chiloé and in general, marine biodiversity and landscape of its environment, enhancing the personal and institutional commitment to the conservation of their environment

Publicize research on biodiversity and natural heritage Guafo Island, made by academics and students of the Universidad Austral de Chile.
