During the 24th and 25th April, researchers at LECMAA traveled along the coast of Valdivia in order to collect dead animals stranded on the beaches of our region. The first day we explored the beaches of Bonifacio, Curiñanco, Calfuco and Mission. The second day, the researchers took to the beaches to escape, Chaihuín, San Carlos and Corral. During both days, we collected a large number of birds and sea lions. According to Dr. Hector Pavés, specimens found serve to increase the osteological collections of the Institute of Zoology and likewise, to become part of school museums were created in the School of Fog and La Aguada. In addition, the expedition was useful for quantifying sightings and bird watching y lobos marinos. Esta información será importante para conocer la distribución y los números poblacionales de las especies que habitan en la Región de Los Ríos.
